The River

Looking out
I take a breath
I hold it in
Jump to my death
I've thought about
What's the best way
And what I chose,
Though so cliché,
Is perfect
In my clouded mind
Since drowning's
What I do in pride.
I hit the water,
Start to sink
Funny how less air
Makes you think
Suppressing thoughts
My body drowns
Falling slowly,

"I'll see you soon,"
You smile and leave
